U-DRIVE Cancellation Policy

At U-DRIVE, we aim to provide a smooth and reliable travel experience for all our users and driver-partners. However, we understand that plans may change. This Cancellation Policy explains how cancellations work for both riders and drivers, along with any applicable charges or refunds.

1. Rider Cancellations

  • Before Ride Confirmation
    • If a ride is cancelled before a driver accepts the booking, no cancellation fee will be charged.
    • You may cancel anytime before confirmation without any penalty.
  • After Ride Confirmation (Before Pickup)
    • If you cancel within 2 minutes of the driver accepting the ride, no fee will be charged.
    • If you cancel after 2 minutes of ride confirmation, a cancellation fee may apply to compensate the driver's time and effort.
    • If the driver has already reached your pickup location or is en-route, a standard cancellation charge will apply.
  • Repeated Cancellations
    • Frequent or repeated ride cancellations may result in temporary suspension of your booking privileges.
    • U-DRIVE reserves the right to take action against misuse or policy violations.

2. Driver Cancellations

  • Before Pickup
    • If a driver cancels a ride after accepting it, it affects the rider's experience.
    • Repeated cancellations by drivers can result in temporary or permanent deactivation of the driver's U-DRIVE account.
  • Automatic Cancellation
    • If the driver does not start the trip within 10 minutes of arriving at the pickup location, the ride may be automatically cancelled, and the rider will be refunded if any advance payment was made.

3. No Show Policy

  • If the driver reaches the pickup location and waits for more than 5 minutes, but the rider fails to show up or respond, the trip will be marked as a “No-Show”.
  • A no-show fee equivalent to the minimum fare may be charged to the rider.
  • Repeated no-shows may affect your ability to book future rides.

4. Refunds

  • Eligible Refunds
      Refunds apply if:
    • The ride was cancelled by the driver before pickup.
    • The app charged a cancellation fee by mistake.
    • The rider experienced a technical issue preventing cancellation.
    • Refunds (if applicable) will be credited within 5-7 business days to the original payment method.
  • Non-Refundable
    • Cancellation fees, no-show fees, or completed trip fares are non-refundable unless proven to be charged in error.

5. Force Majeure / Exceptional Cases

No cancellation fee will be charged in case of:

  • Natural disasters, strikes, or government restrictions.
  • Accidents or medical emergencies verified by U-DRIVE support.
  • Technical errors in the U-DRIVE system.
